Expect the unexpected. Oily Emergencies
Expect the unexpected.
Life is full of twists and turns that you can never be too prepared for and Oily emergencies are just one of those things. Warning: Guys, we are going to talk about female anatomy on this one so this is your fair warning to bail now.
About two weeks ago, four days before I was about to start my monthly cycle, I started to feel pain. I passed it off as cramps just coming early and went on about life. Boy was I wrong. That night was one of the most excruciating nights of my life. At points, I felt like all of the muscles had been ripped off of my right hip and lower spine. I did not sleep at all. It was horrid.
Being the “lets just ignore our body and keep going” type, I got up the next morning and went to bridal market and mustered through the pain. I did call my doctor but they couldn’t get me in until Tuesday (this was Thursday) so I just kept going. We were staying at a hotel that night so I packed very little and I’m going to be honest, used wine and Tylenol to make it through. I know, its an oily blog but I have to be honest. We stayed at the Le Meridian in Dallas and it was beautiful. I wish I had felt better to enjoy it more. The next day, another day of market, we made it through and finally got home. I was in bed by 6:00 and didn’t get out for almost two days. If you don’t know me, I haven’t missed a Saturday of work that wasn’t a vacation Saturday in 8 years. It was that bad.
Now to the oily part: I looked up ovarian cysts in my Essential Oils Desk Reference and grabbed everything I had on hand and started dumping it in my diffuser. Then I rubbed my pain cream (see earlier post) on my back and started layering the cyst oils on top of it. All I can say is wow. I hadn’t felt that relief in days and the doctor had prescribed Tylenol 3. (I took them one night, didn’t work, didn’t take any more, I don’t like pills). I cannot express how thankful I was to have these oils on hand:
